Experienced Lawyer for Relocation
Relocation
With the recent revisions to the Illinois divorce laws, a party who resides in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, or Will counties and established as the primary residence of the child or children may move within 25 miles of their residence by providing notice to, but necessarily seeking approval from the opposing party.
Parties living outside of the aforementioned counties may relocate within a 50 mile radius of their home. Those individuals seeking to relocate outside the State of Illinois must seek permission from the Court to do so. At that time the Court will consider the best interests of the child or children.
